Vince Evans, a native of Jasper, Georgia attended Shorter College in Rome, GA and received a Bachelor of Church Music degree in Organ and a Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance in 1983. He continued graduate studied in organ and conducting at Scarritt Graduate School in Nashville Tennessee, studying organ with Wilma Jensen and conducting with Sandra Willets. He later pursued graduate theological studies at New Orleans Theological Seminary.
Vince completed Master of Music degree at Southwestern Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas studying organ with Dr. Albert Travis, voice with Dr. David Robinson, handbells with Cynthia Dobrinski, and conducting with Dr. David Keith in 1998. Vince later continued post graduate studies in the field of Education at the University of North Carolina in Charlotte.
Vince has served as a full-time Minister of Music and organist for churches in Louisiana, Texas, North Carolina, and Georgia. He has also served as assistant professor of Music at Mitchell College in Statesville, North Carolina, and adjunct professor of music at Georgia Military College in Warner Robins, Georgia.
Vince has performed regularly as an organist, vocalist, and conductor, and has also performed with the United States Air Force Brass Quintet performing works for organ and brass.
Vince presently is the principle organist for the Lovett School in Atlanta, GA, and also sings with the Lynn Swanson Festival Singers in of Atlanta, and is involved with the Atlanta Chapter of the American Guild of Organists serving on the membership committee.
