From the Decatur-area Emergency Assistance Ministry (DEAM):

Thanks to the shopping efforts of our over-180 supporters, DEAM has received thus far over $2,467.00 from the Kroger Community Rewards program. DEAM has an annual favor to ask. We have received word from Kroger that our supporters will need to re-enroll in the Kroger Community Rewards for the 2015-2016 program year.

Here’s what you need to do. If you already have a Kroger card, skip to step 3.

  1. If you do not have a Kroger Plus card, go to the Kroger customer service desk at the Kroger of your choice and obtain a card.
  2. Go online to and click on the “Register” button. Then enter your login ID (use your email address), set a password and record this information. After the screen opens, enter your name and address and phone number and select the Kroger store that you visit most often and enter the 12 digit number found on the Kroger Plus card. After verifying all information is correct, click on the “Create Account” button.
  3. Once your account has been created, return to the homepage and click the “Sign In” button; then enter your email address and password and click the “My Account” button. Click on “Community” (below the search bar), then select Community Rewards.” Go to the bottom of the Account Summary list, then click on the “Enroll” button.
  4. Search for the DEAM charity information by entering “10566” (without the quotes) in the box and click “Search.” The description “DECATUR AREA EMERGENCY 10566” should appear. Check the circle to the left of the description and then click the “Enroll” button. Then click the “Sign Out” button.

Mission complete! Once you have registered your card designating DEAM as your favorite community organization, you will automatically earn rewards points for DEAM every time you shop. These reward points are in addition to and totally separate from any you earn individually. You can’t lose! Our program will not impact your own point accumulation, and DEAM will periodically receive cash for everyone’s dedicated points. Many thanks from DEAM and those we serve!!
